Half Bath Makeover - Before & After

This is the first of three bathrooms we will be renovating over the next few months.

When we first started renovating our home, we decided to focus primarily on the living spaces (kitchen, living room, dining, bedrooms, etc.) and then on the bathrooms last. It’s nearly unbelievable to think that we’ve come to that point just 8 months later!

This bathroom is located on the west side of our house, right off of the laundry room and back deck. So this bathroom will be used when we have company and entertaining outside during the warmer months.

We chose to add a splash of color to this bathroom since we have used neutrals in the rest of the house. I can’t describe how thrilled we are with the way this space turned out.

Here is what the bathroom looked like when we bought the house:

And here are some ‘in between’ photos where you can see some of the progress we made before moving into the house in June. We removed the popcorn ceiling and patched where a previous leak had caused some discoloring. As well as got rid of the wallpaper and painted the walls, vanity, mirror, and replaced the floors.

And here is the after.

I am so in love with the way this makeover turned out. The color of the tile is a dusty blue and is most accurately represented in the first photo below.

We installed a new counter/sink, faucet, GFCI protected outlet, toilet paper holder, and hand towel ring.

We still have a few small things to do, like caulk the door trim and baseboards and possibly add more artwork on the walls! We’re going to take a small break to enjoy and relax throughout the holidays and then start on our guest bath and primary bedroom bath early 2022.
