The Only ‘Monster Cookie’ Recipe You’ll Ever Need
Although, I don’t need an excuse to whip up a batch of cookies, the in-laws came to town this week so I wanted to have treats for them upon their arrival. I was craving something sweet but savory so I added a slight twist to this traditional monster cookie recipe. I tossed in chopped pecans and it really elevated this recipe. If you’re allergic or don’t have nuts on hand, feel free to skip that ingredient and this recipe will turn out just as great! I will say, the chopped pecans adds a nice savory & chewy texture.
Monster Cookies
Ingredients
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350° F.
- In a large bowl mix together the following ingredients: white sugar, brown sugar, salt, and baking soda.
- Next, add in the vanilla, (room temperature) butter, eggs, and peanut butter and mix until smooth.
- Lastly, toss in the rest of the dry goods: oats, chocolate chips, m&ms, and chopped nuts. Mix until oats and candies are spread throughout.
- Using a 2 tbsp scoop (or a 1/8 measuring cup) and place cookie dough approximately 2 inches apart on a lightly greased baking sheet. Alternatively, you could use parchment paper instead of PAM or butter.
- Bake at 350° F for 12-14 minutes, or until lightly golden brown on top. I found that baking for 13 minutes was the perfect time for a soft & chewy inside and crunchy outside! For an even softer and chewier cookie, bake 11-12 minutes.
- If you can wait, let cookies cool and then enjoy!
