ProForm Carbon T7 Treadmill + iFit Review

ProForm Carbon T7 Treadmill

Not trying to be dramatic or anything but this thing has changed my life. I will try to keep this short and simple because I could talk about this thing for hours.

Prior to getting this treadmill I was running outdoors. Which I love running outdoors but with work getting really busy and having to go in much earlier than normal, I didnโ€™t really feel comfortable running outside that early in the morning when it was still pitch black out. So this treadmill has been a great addition in keeping me motivated and encouraged to continue getting physical activity in even when my work-life is bubbling into my personal life.

This is the treadmill I ended up with from Academy in Owasso; at the time it was the last one in-store but they might have more in stock by now!

Perks:

  • Tread belt is wider than your typical treadmill

  • 7โ€ Smart HD touchscreen

  • 0 - 12 mph (+ quick-speed button control)

  • 0 - 12 grade %

  • iFit compatible + 1 year free iFit membership

  • Auxiliary port w/ duel speakers

  • It folds up and can be stowed away, if needed

  • Shocks so your knees donโ€™t feel like youโ€™re stomping on cement

Cons:

  • Not the cheapest option on the market but certainly not the most expensive

  • Heavier than a SOB to carry into the house

  • In order to enjoy the benefits of iFit, you will have to have wifi

MORE ON IFIT

So iFit, much like Peloton, is an app that offers hundreds of workouts that are led by various trainers from around the world. Whether you like running, cycling, using the elliptical or rowing, they have so many different workouts to fit whatever workout personality you have. Personally, I like to run so I take advantage of the running challenges, which could vary from interval to tempo to fartlek workouts.

One of the coolest features of iFit, is that it signals the treadmill to adjust the speed and grade % for you. So if your trainer is running up a slight incline, your treadmill will adjust for the incline. As well as adjust for the speed at which the trainer expects you to be running. It essentially takes all of the brain-work out of โ€œwhat kind of workout am I going to do today?โ€ You literally just follow your trainer and enjoy the scenery!

If youโ€™re not quite ready for a guided run, then you can also choose to do a manual workout but the options are pretty endless when it comes to using this treadmill! They have everything from hiking, beginner runner training, interval training (my personal favorite!), or even walks! And you get to do this all while seeing the terrain and environment and culture of whichever country your trainer happens to be in!

Lastly, you can create your own guided workout by using their desktop application. You can decide how long you want to walk or jog or run, at what distance, what speed and what incline. If you want to walk for 30 secs, sprint for 60 at a split incline, you can create this workout and it will then adjust your treadmill just like a guided trainer workout would.

The home screen on the desktop app shows your stats:

Hereโ€™s a view of the iFit Dashboard from the iPhone app. As you can see in the first screenshot there are many different options / workouts you can do within the app. Treadmill, cycling, elliptical, there are even strength training classes. In the second screenshot, youโ€™ll see my calendar / schedule where the workouts I completed are at the top and then below that you can see what I have scheduled or coming up to complete.

Iโ€™ve been using this treadmill and iFit app since March 1st and 10/10 recommend this combo if youโ€™re looking for a way to get back into fitness or just simply enjoy some sort of physical activity without the frustration of not knowing where to start!

Until next time,

xx, Riss
