Dining: Nola’s Creole & Cocktails
Last Saturday we set off for a day date in Tulsa, nothing really on the agenda besides spending the day together. After running a few errands and driving by a couple of venues we were considering using for our wedding, we were in the mood for some comfort food. We had unintentionally passed by a restaurant that so many of our friends had recommended so we turned the truck around and decided to give Nola’s on Cherry Street a try. I am so glad we did! The environment was laid back and a bit dark & moody. It was like we stepped back in time to an old Prohibition Era Speakeasy!
We ordered Viviana’s Crawfish Queso as an appetizer. A creamy white queso with lots of crawfish, a bit of spice, onions and peppers and served with warm tortilla chips. For the main course we shared the VooDoo Chicken entree, which came highly recommended by our waitress; it consisted of two cajun-fried chicken breasts topped with shrimp and jumbo lump crab with a side of mac and cheese and crushed red potatoes. We might have also gotten a side of cajun fries! If you’re looking for comfort food, this is your place!
We couldn’t leave without trying dessert so we decided on the beignets, served with a warm buttery spiced rum sauce. Everything we tried was delicious and the service was absolutely amazing! 10/10 recommend!

I loved that they had a lot of space, plenty of room for small or large parties + outdoor seating! Have you been to Nola’s?
